Mental Health
More than 188 million dollars have been awarded to 170 different grantees to strengthen high-needs districts with mental health professionals. This is part of President Biden’s Unity Agenda. To find the districts and schools that benefit from these grants, click here.

STATE LEGISLATURES
Florida
A bill has been filed in the House of Representatives that gives the State Board of Governors more power over Florida public universities, changes hiring practices that would allow universities to remove diversity and inclusion statements and would allow a professor’s tenure to be called into question at any time.
It also forces public universities to remove Gender Studies, Critical Race Theory, and Intersectionality degrees and prohibits funding to university programs that support these causes and ideas.
A link to the bill can be found here.
THE JUDICIAL BRANCH
LITIGATION: THE SUPREME COURT
Debt Forgiveness
Currently, the Supreme Court has blocked student loan forgiveness as they hear two cases: Biden v. Nebraska and Department of Education v. Brown.
As of the 28th of February 2023, the supreme court has heard the argument for the petitioners, President Biden and the Solicitor General. For more information, please click this link.
